Lakeshore Jazz Connection Ignites the Stage with “Jammin’ at the Gables”
Saugatuck, MI — Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon of live jazz as Lakeshore Jazz Connection launches its first annual jam session, “Jammin’ at the Gables,” on Sunday, April 19 from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Coral Gables Old Crowbar, 220 Water Street in Saugatuck.
Set against a scenic riverfront backdrop, this high-energy session brings together top regional talent for an afternoon where anything can happen. A house quartet led by vibraphonist Jim Cooper features Steve Talaga (piano), Denis “The Bear” Shebukov (bass), and local favorite Danny Raymond (drums). Throughout the afternoon, special guest artists will be invited to sit in, making each moment spontaneous, collaborative, and unique.
“Coral Gables has a rich jazz history that many people don’t realize,” says Cooper. “We’re excited to bring that spirit back to life —a perfect setting with great energy, a beautiful view, and a supportive community behind it.”
More than just a performance, Jammin’ at the Gables captures the true spirit of jazz—where musicians connect, take risks, and create in the moment. Audiences aren’t just spectators; they’re part of the experience, fueling the energy that makes a jam session come alive.
Tickets are $20 and available at the door or online at:

All proceeds benefit the Lakeshore Jazz Connection Jazz Scholarship Fund, supporting local middle and high school students. This year’s recipient will attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, helping nurture the next generation of jazz artists.
Lakeshore Jazz Connection continues to present dynamic performances and educational programming throughout the year, celebrating America’s original art form while building community along the lakeshore.
